This statistic shows the results of a survey on the share of broadband internet users in Germany from 2005 to 2016. In 2016, roughly 62 percent of the German residential population used a broadband connection.

The survey is based on the German-speaking residential population aged 14 years and older with a household landline connection. Survey participants were selected in a standardised random selection process according to industry standards.
Some figures were taken from previous publications. The D21-Digital-Index was developed from the (N)ONLINER Atlas (2001-2014).
