Between 2000 and 2023, the total number of e-money transactions made in Germany declined overall with gradual annual fluctuation. In fact, there were 43.1 million e-money payments in 2009, which further decrease to 16.13 million in 2023. Yet, a general positive trend was visible in e-money transactions in the European Union over the 2014-2023 period.
