In 2021, the production value of the food product manufacturing industry in Italy increased by 12.4 billion euros (+10.53 percent) since 2020. With 129.7 billion euros, the production value thereby reached its highest value in the observed period. The value of production is defined by Eurostat as the amount actually produced by the unit, based on sales, including changes in stocks and the resale of goods and services.

Income and expenditure classified as financial or extra-ordinary in company accounts is excluded from production value. Data coverage corresponds to Section C10 of CE Rev2.
