The personnel costs of the extraction of crude petroleum and natural gas industry in Germany saw no significant changes in 2017 in comparison to the previous year 2016 and remained at around 430.1 million euros. Still, 2017 marked the second consecutive decline of the personnel costs in this industry. Personnel costs are made up of wages, salaries and employers' social security costs. They include taxes and employees' social security contributions retained by the employer, as well as the employer's compulsory and voluntary social contributions.
