This statistic presents the share of children who participated in track and field athletics in the last week in England, as of annual surveys conducted between 2018 and 2021. In the 2017/18 academic year, around 3.4 percent of children aged between 5 and 16 had participated in some form of athletics in the week prior to the survey. This figure decreased to approximately 2.1 percent by the 2020/21 academic year.
