This statistic presents the development of EMV-compliant ATMs (automated teller machines) for self-operated cash withdrawals in European countries from 2005 to 2012. In 2012, approximately 99.3 percent of all ATMs in Europe were adjusted to EMV Chip and PIN technology.

The source provides further information: "EMV, also known as Chip and PIN, is a standard for the interoperation of smart cards and enabled POS terminals and ATMs, for authenticating credit and debit card payments. The EMV name comes from the initial letters of Europay, MasterCard and Visa, three companies which originally cooperated to develop the standard. Approximately 75 percent of Russian ATMs and 99 percent of ATMs in Ukraine as EMV compliant. EAST stopped collecting this data at the end of 2012."
