Alternative financial services (AFS) use in the households of United States 2017, by employment status
Total number of survey respondents: 35,217. Among households which used alternative financial services in the previous 12 months. Unbanked households are those without an account at an insured institution. Underbanked households have an account at an insured institution, but have also obtained financial services and products from non-bank, alternative financial services (AFS) providers in the last 12 months.
