The value of multifamily real estate investment in the United States has declined since 2021 when it peaked at 344 billion U.S. dollars. In 2023, the sector attracted about half of this investment value, 117.5 billion U.S. dollars. Some of the main reasons for the decline in investment included the tighter lending conditions, the increase in valuations over the past years, and the soaring construction costs.
