In Russia, the total value of merger and acquisition (M&A) transactions fluctuated considerably between 2011 and 2021. Total M&A deal value amounted to over 45 billion euros in 2021, more than 15 billion euro growth from the previous year. A significant decrease in M&A transaction value was observed between 2012 and 2015. The deal value dropped from nearly 100 billion euros in 2012, to 18.7 billion euros in 2015. Overall, a decrease of about 67 billion euros is shown in terms of total value of M&A deals between 2011 and 2020.
