This statistic shows the annual direct tourism gross value added of accommodation services for visitors in the United Kingdom (UK) from 2008 to 2017. TDGVA measures the gross value added directly by tourism to the UK economy. Accommodation services contributed an estimated gross value added of 9.7 billion British pounds through internal tourism in 2017. The total gross value added of the accommodation industry to the UK non-financial business economy overall reached over 16 billion British pounds in 2017.

The source defines tourism direct GVA as follows: "Tourism direct gross value added (TDGVA) indicates the component of output from the set of UK tourism industries that is driven directly by tourism spend. It is calculated by reconciling the supply (the output of tourism industries) with the demand (tourist expenditure) side of tourism, so that the proportion of the output of tourism industries that is accounted for by tourism expenditure can be estimated."
