This statistic depicts the assets of the global sovereign wealth funds from 2000 to 2013. Sovereign wealth funds are state-owned funds originated mainy from natural resources trading or foreign-exchange reserves surplus. They are invested in various financial assets in order to, among others, diversify the country revenue sources or increase the liquidity. In 2013, the assets managed by the global sovereign wealth funds amounted to 6,321 billion U.S. dollars.
