Watching TV or films on a TV set made up almost half of all activity for respondents aged over 65, while text communications made up 23 percent of all activity for respondents aged 16 to 24.

Adult participants recorded all their media behaviour in a paper diary for seven days, and these data were captured on a daily basis online or by telephone.
