In that year, 570 prescriptions for asthma per 1,000 patients were prescribed. The Affordable Care Act impacted the way hospitals function, for example, by decreasing the necessity for hospital readmissions and hospital acquired infections. After 2014, hospitals will also have more newly insured patients to monitor.
