This statistic displays the average economic impact in the United States from four medical technologies in the period from 2008 to 2010. The United States GDP gained an average of 106.2 billion U.S. dollars during these years due to these four medical technology areas. The direct economic benefit of medical technology such as devices and diagnostics is simple to measure, however, including indirect costs such as reducing the length of hospital stays is more complex to find.
