Adults in the U.S. using online dianosis and professional follow-up by ethnicity 2012

This statistic shows the percentage of U.S. adults who have looked online to diagnose a condition and those that have followed-up with a professional medical opinion in 2012, sorted by ethnicity. Of the surveyed Hispanic adults, 25 percent have gone online to diagnose a condition. Of these, 58 percent went to a health professional after that. The internet has become a diagnostic tool for about one-third of adults in the United States. Women and younger adults are more likely than men to use the internet for a possible diagnosis.
