According to the survey conducted in 2014, 23 percent of all confectionery 'snacking occasions' took place outside the home. On 42 percent of these occasions, respondents snacked on confectionery items at work.

Qualitative: four focus groups with 16-35 year olds in Ireland and several online discussion groups in the UK, with 56 respondents broken down by life stage and region.
Quantitative: online survey across Ireland and the UK with nationally represetative sample of 3,000 respondents.
The source states that findings between Ireland and the UK were very similar and therefore outlined figures are an average across both markets. In total the data covers 12,244 snacking occasions.
