This graph shows the share of respondents to a spring 2013 poll who bought a certain number of e-books throughout the previous year, along with the shares of respondents who estimated that they would buy a certain number of e-books in the year 2016. Ten percent of respondents said that they had bought six or seven e-books in the last year, and nine percent estimated that they would buy six or seven e-books in 2016. Not surprisingly, the growing popularity of e-books is reflected in the growing sales revenue.

Respondents were asked: "During the past year, how many books (excluding textbooks) have you bought by type? Please give us your best guess as to how many books you think you may buy in 2016 by type."
