In 2014, 22 percent of the wealthy individuals interviewed stated that they had inherited the majority of their wealth, whereas 78 percent stated they earned the majority either through income from work, investment, real estate or through the sale of their business.

-Age 34-49: 22 percent (Gen X)
-Age 50-68: 45 percent (Baby Boomers)

- 43 percent women.
The 680 people interviewed for this nationwide survey were high net worth or ultra high net worth individuals.
