In 2023, the IPO issuing volume of Chinese companies worldwide amounted to 396 billion, almost half as much as in 2019. Chinese companies went public despite the outbreak of COVID-19 and the resulting turbulences at various financial markets around the world. The Chinese government tries to develop the domestic financial market to incentivize Chinese companies to list at home.
