The statistic presents information on preferred TV show genres among adults in the United States as of November 2018, broken down by gender. The findings show that the comedy genre was more popular with women than men, however more men considered the sci-fi and fantasy TV show genre very or somewhat favorable than female respondents. The least popular genre with women was horror, with just 48 percent saying that they considered this type of TV show very or somewhat favorable, compared to 86 percent who said the same about action and adventure shows.
