Germany: new motor vehicle sales 2005-2023
New vehicle sales and registrations in Germany had been on the rise, reaching 4.02 million in 2019, before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. By 2023, sales had started to recover from the health crisis, semiconductor shortage, and increase of raw material prices. Some 3.2 million motor vehicles were sold in the country that year, the first increase since 2019.
