Uranium producing countries
In 2022, the global production volume of uranium stood at nearly 48,900 metric tons. Kazakhstan accounted for nearly 43 percent of the overall global uranium production that year. Kazakhstan’s uranium mine production has exceeded 21,000 metric tons annually since 2012, with the exception of 2020 when it dropped to 19,477 metric tons. Canada followed in second place in 2022, with a uranium production volume of 7,351 metric tons. By comparison, the United States produced just 75 metric tons of uranium that year. However, the country has seen a considerable decrease in its uranium production figures in recent years compared to the U.S. uranium mine production in 2014, which amounted to 1,919 metric tons.
