This statistic illustrates the results of an interview conducted by the Gallup Organization from January 1 to June 27, 2013. More than 36,000 U.S. adults were asked if they have struggled to afford food in the past 12 months. Some 23 percent of respondents aged between 31 and 40 years and living in a household with at least one child indicated to have had difficulties affording food in the past year.
