Throughout 2023, Mexican movie theaters sold 233 million tickets, up from 182 million in the previous year – an annual increase of 28 percent. Still, the 2022 figure corresponds to two-thirds of the 350 million movie tickets sold in 2019. Meanwhile, the box office revenue in Mexico more than quadrupled between 2020 and 2022.
