This statistic shows American survey participants’ responses to 3 different statements about the negative impact of nonprofit organizations in the United States as of 2012. The figures shown are the share of respondents who agreed with the statement and who therefore demonstrated a negative view of nonprofits. Responses are differentiated by the political affiliation of participants. 33 percent of Democrat supporters surveyed said the agreed that too much of nonprofits' budgets go to overhead costs and not enough goes to providing services or creating change.
