Leading universities Asia 2024
With a score of 92.8, Tsinghua University in China secured the top spot in the Asian university ranking in 2024. This higher education institution beat the likes of Seoul National University and the University of Tokyo to the number one position. Interestingly, the overall scores of the leading universities in Asia have increased significantly throughout recent years, thus giving the region a reputation as being home to some of the world’s most prestigious universities.
Improving higher education
A tertiary education in the Asia-Pacific region has become more attractive for prospective domestic and international students, likely due to the surging level of academia demonstrated by Asian universities. A feat which is most probably due to raised levels of expenditure invested into the Asia-Pacific education sector. Singapore and South Korea are just some of the countries which exhibit these increasing investments. Investments likely made in an attempt to produce more qualified individuals, who can stimulate the evolving industries throughout Asia-Pacific.
Life after education
Not only does Asian higher education boast impressive results, but it appears the Asia-Pacific region is becoming more enticing for both domestic and international post-graduates. Many Asian countries are offering better employment opportunities and salaries than their western competitors. Countries such as Taiwan stand in the foreground as those who have initiated recruitment schemes in order to secure international graduates from other Asian regions and thus, encourage intra-regional relations across Asia-Pacific. With more graduates opting to settle in Asia, it does not seem too surprising that Asian cities have been deemed as some of the most liveable in the world.
