A survey among internet users in the United States found that as of the third quarter of 2023, 85 percent of respondents stated that they played video games on any device. Smartphone gaming was the most popular by a wide margin - nearly 70 percent of online users in the United States played games on their mobile phones. Console gaming was ranked second with a 42 percent usage reach.
