As of March 2020, a survey on parenting in the United States revealed that 35 percent of parents allowed their child under the age of 11 watch videos on YouTube several times a day, even though the online platform has explicitly stated that the platform is not intended for users younger than 13 years. In comparison, five percent of parents only allow their under-11 children to watch videos on YouTube less often than every few weeks.
