The Nasdaq Biotech Index has been trending upwards overall between 2000 and 2023. From a starting value of 790 points at the end of 2005, the by the end of December 2020 the index reached 4,759 points. The index, however, saw a 10 percent between 2021 and 2022, before increasing again in 2023.
