The elements of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) have been prioritized on varying levels among interviewed private equity (PE) firms. Social was the least prioritized of the three elements, with 22 percent. Governance placed in second with 31 percent. The vast majority of PE firms placed a primary focus on governance, with almost half of firms noting its importance.
