On average, 85 percent of adults surveyed in Europe in 2024 agreed that is was important to have global rules to ban plastics that cannot be easily recycled in the countries where they are used. The strongest support was in Ireland, where 90 percent of respondents considered the ban as being essential, very important, or fairly important. In contrast, Germany had the lowest support among surveyed countries, with 81 percent.
