As of 2024, Israel had by far the most number of startups in the Middle East and Africa with 9000. The United Arab Emirates had the second highest number of startups in the region at roughly 5600. Five of the ten countries with the most number of startups were located in Africa, with Nigeria, home to over 3300 startups, leading the region.
