Northvolt, located in Borlange, Sweden, was the largest planned battery storage facility in Europe, as of October 2023. Its projected storage capacity was of approximately 150 gigawatt-hours. Northvolt plans the construction of other battery energy storage plants in Sweden and in Germany.
