A survey conducted quarterly in North America between 2022 and 2024 found that both surveyed genders are shopping less luxury items through social media than before. In the first quarter of 2022, around 32 percent of women purchased luxury brands and services via social platforms, while about 28 percent did the same in the second quarter of 2024. For men, this share dropped from approximately 28 to 11 percent during the same period. The third quarter of 2023 was a peak for women, when roughly two-fifths of them bought luxury products via social media, while the men had their peak in the first quarter of 2022.
