In 2022, the share of Palestinian employees working in the construction sector in Israel was 24 percent. In the period between 2011 and 2019, the percentage of Palestinian workers in Israeli construction consistently grew. Between 2019 and 2022 the share of construction workers coming from the West Bank and Gaza generally remained stable. Following the start of the Israel-Hamas war on October 7, 2023, the Israeli governmentsharply reduced the number of Palestinians permitted to work in Israel.
