In 2024, a YourView survey found that around 23 percent of consumers in South Africa were most likely to prioritize avoiding products containing harmful chemical pollutants as a way of forming sustainable shopping habits. Prioritizing products certified as organic or sustainable by reputable organizations followed, with a share of almost 14 percent.
