Private credit activity increased considerably in the last decade. Between 2018 and 2019, the value of assets under management (AUM) in the private credit industry jumped to over one trillion U.S. dollars, and kept increasing in the following years. By the end of 2022, private credit AUM amounted to over 1.5 trillion U.S. dollars.
