During the second half of 2023, Facebook received zero requests from the Russian government for user and account preservation. Preservation requests from the Russian government significantly decreased during the first half of 2022, the time period in which Russia's invasion of Ukraine began, and have remained low ever since. When Meta receives a preservation request, it preserves a snapshot of the relevant account information. However, the company does not reveal any of the preserved documents unless they get formal and legitimate legal procedure.
