According to a 2024 survey, nearly two-thirds of Americans thought the country's top foreign policy priority should be taking measures to protect the U.S. from terrorist attacks. Additionally, reducing the flow of illegal drugs into the country and preventing the spread of weapons of mass destruction were also considered a top priority among 64 percent and 63 percent of respondents respectively.
