According to a survey conducted in Southeast Asia in July and August 2023, floods were the most commonly perceived extreme weather event due to climate change among respondents in all countries except Laos and Singapore. In Laos, droughts were the most perceived impact of climate change, while over 85 percent of Singaporean respondents stated heatwaves to be one of the leading climate change impacts in their country.
