According to a survey of global app users in 2023, 49 percent of global Gen X users reported browsing the app stores such as the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store to find new apps to download. In comparison, 40 percent of Gen Z users as well reported using the same channel to find new apps to download. Search engines for web searches, such as Google and Bing, were used by approximately one-third of global Gen Z respondents. Brand advertising was indicated as a channel to find apps among 28 percent of Gen Z users, as well as among the same number of Millennials.
