In 2023, more than eight in ten parcels sent through express delivery services in China were delivered within 72 hours. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent travel restrictions, courier services in the country became significantly slower between 2020 and 2022. Every year, the regulatory authorities in China conduct large-scale online surveys and random tests to monitor the service of the country's major courier service providers.

The monitoring program covers nine express service enterprises, including China Post EMS, SF Express, ZTO Express, YTO Express, Yunda Express, STO Express, JD Logistics, Deppon Express, and J&T Express.
The survey was conducted in 50 cities, including the municipalities of Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Chongqing, 27 provincial capitals, and 19 cities with high express delivery volumes.
