In Portugal, the value of mergers and acquisitions' (M&A) transactions mostly decreased during the observed period. In 2019, inbound M&A deals in the country represented more than five billion U.S. dollars, but, in 2022, they had the value of 1.8 billion U.S. dollars. During the same year, outbound M&A consisted of 940.34 million U.S. dollars, which was a decrease compared to the value recorded in 2020.
