According to a survey conducted in 2022, 44 percent of public K-12 teachers said that they believe that having teachers carry firearms for school security would make schools a lot less safe in the United States. In comparison, 14 percent believed having teachers carry firearms would make schools somewhat more safe while 10 percent believed it would make schools somewhat less safe. Only six percent were found to believe that arming teachers with firearms would make schools a lot more safe in that year.
