A survey of parents revealed that in 2023, about 34 percent of children who made in-game purchases spent money on items that impacted gameplay, making it the most popular category of in-game items to be bought. A further 31 percent of respondents stated that their kids who made in-game purchases had bought decorative or cosmetic items that didn't impact gameplay.
