Germany was the European country which collected the greatest total tax revenues (including social security revenues), with the country collecting 1.5 trillion euros of taxes in 2022. France was the country in Europe with the second largest tax base in 2022, with 1.2 trillion Euros of taxes collected, while Italy collectedt 830 billion euros. The small island nation of Malta collected the least tax revenue in 2022, with only 5 billion euros of revenues.
