Share of public K-12 teachers who limit political or social topics in class U.S. 2023
According to a survey conducted in 2023, 65 percent of K-12 teachers at public schools in the United States said that they had decided on their own, without being directed by school or district leaders, to limit discussions about political and social issues in class. In comparison, only 29 percent said that they had not decided to limit discussing political and social issues in class.
