The ability to offset mortgage interest payments and other fees was the biggest driver for setting up a limited company, according to landlords in the UK in 2023. Additionally, 57 percent of respondents picked the ability to pay corporation tax over income tax. The rise of limited companies as a preferred vehicle for landlords is a result of the changes to Section 24, which substitute the ability to offset mortgage interest payments with a 20 percent tax credit.
