According to a study from 2022, global podcast frequency has been increasing steadily since 2019. In 2022, 24 percent of respondents were heavy listeners, meaning they listened to eight times or more during a month. In comparison, in 2019, about one in five respondents listened the same amount.

light listener: 1-3 times a month; medium listener: 4-7 times a month; heavy listener: 8+ times a month but not every day; super listener: Every day
