Among the selected European countries, respondents from Portugal have the most favorable perception of European car brands, with 96 percent of them reporting having a very good or somewhat good opinion of these brands. On the other hand, 13 percent of respondents from Belgium and the United Kingdom had a somewhat poor or very poor opinion regarding European car brands, which is the highest share among the selected countries.

Original survey question: "Do you have a good or poor opinion of cars of brands from Europe?"
Respondents came from national samples from each country. The quota approach was employed to ensure that the sample was representative of gender and age.
3,000 interviews were done in France and 800 in each of the other countries. The results displayed include respondents who said they had a very good opinion or somewhat good opinion of car brands from the selected region or country.
